Grabbed this the last time I was at Powell's because the back text (it describes the "six senses of Damon Knight," including his ability to "touch the nose of God") was so weird I had no idea what the book was about. Turns out Knight is a well-known SF short-story author and this was six (I think) of his stories. It's been month or so since I finished the book so I don't have any specifics, but I enjoyed most of them and would definitely read another collection by this guy. I bought on of his novels at the same time, and will give it a go eventually.

I sometimes feel like I missed out on the golden age of sci fi when short stories were published weekly in magazines and the great mind bending novels were serialised. This book is a bit of a throwback to those times. I actually enjoyed the short conceptual ones more than the slightly longer ones which dragged a little and had strange jumps about a third of the way through. This book is ok for what it is but a bit inconsistent.
