Review # 1 was written on 2020-09-06 00:00:00 Song Yu This is the type of slightly salacious novels I enjoyed in my early 20's and despite being dated this is still a good novel. In Carriage Trade you discover the truth behind the man who built one if NYC most exclusive stores and what a story it is. In Carriage Trade you get to glimpse inside of the lives of the very rich and their sycophants. Every character in the book has secrets and things that never should be brought to life; the only truly innocent characters are Miranda and Blazer Tarkington the children of the great Silas Tarkington. The one complaint I have is that Blazer's story was left unfinished, his sister makes no mention of how she is going to replace what was stolen from her brother, even after we find out who the culprit was behind everything. I miss books that take a couple of days to read instead of a few hours. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-06-02 00:00:00 Sharon Rider A good solid read. I always have trouble with treachery, but I guess it is a fact of life. Almost everyone got their karma delivered. One character deserved a lot more, but I won't ruin the book for you. |
