Review # 1 was written on 2014-06-03 00:00:00 Christoph Hahl Captain John Smith's book surpasses Teddy Roosevelt for an author who thinks VERY highly of himself. The story is full of daring adventures and exciting stories, but Smith also shows a man of his era who believes that people are objects of glory not individuals with their own humanity. Although it can be fun, many of the "facts" are strongly disputed and the tone is annoying. Don't read it to know what happened. Read it to learn what kind of man John Smith thought he was. |
