Review # 1 was written on 2016-08-27 00:00:00 Gabriel Banyay It was ok. Most of this book was worth it simply for the art included (this was an odd edition, it has the form and format of a coffee-table book, but the content is a Summary of Christianity, something you might assign to undergraduate students at a Christianese College like CIU or Liberty or Grand Canyon. The content is quite Cynical; Owen Chadwick several times sides with secularism on controversial issues such as the resurrection or the historicity of Genesis, which I believe is a bit biased and uncalled for in a Church Historian. Bottom line? Don't read this for the words. I'm wondering about how good his "The Reformation" is going to be; it has quite the reputation but judging by this book...anyway. Read. it for the paintings, which are gorgeous.
