This book is a study guide into basic Christian doctrine/theology. It is primarily designed to be used in group study but can be used for individual study as well. As the title implies, it covers 11 core doctrines of the Christian faith. Subjects include: The Bible, God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, Creation, Salvation, Sanctification, Good and Evil, The Afterlife, The Church, and The Second Coming. Each subject is divided into two lessons. The subjects covered will give the reader a "foundation" of what Protestant Christians believe. Since this is a study guide, the book is filled with blank spaces where the student is to respond. (Fill in the blank answers are given at the end of each chapter.) The book is also filled with scriptural references to help guide the student into Bible study. I was able to read this book using the videos that went along with it which proved to be extremely helpful. This book is a very useful tool that can be used to help the Christian get a grasp on basic doctrine. The authors Tom Holladay and Kay Warren are brother and sister. They are part of the team of Saddleback Church in California of which Rick Warren is the pastor.
