Review # 1 was written on 2012-01-26 00:00:00 Jim Keogh This book could really use a good style editor. Numbering conventions are all wonky. Mentioning things and not defining them til chapters later. We have fun in class pointing out the inconsistencies. Oh and FYI the 12th edition and 13th edition are nearly the same; some of the extra problems in the chapters are slightly different. We examined #1.37 in class this week, and the numbers of hazardous dump sites in the 12th edition were taken from a 2003 survey, which differed slightly with the later numbers my classmates had in their edition. If your professor assigns homework, this could create a problem. Mine doesn't, so I am fortunate to have been able to purchase the much cheaper, earlier edition. |
