Review # 1 was written on 2020-01-18 00:00:00 Taeryang Ha Showers and Miller have created an exciting, quirky, and well-thought out book on the basics of blood cells. Showers’ prose is tersely informative for the most part, but it is broken up by factual rhymes about blood cells that provide a nice break. Miller’s digital illustrations are the real star of the show here, though--his vampire and monster subjects add a nice amount of levity to an incredibly informative text as well as supplementing the information with labelled diagrams and infographics. Definitely a nonfiction page turner, especially for any readers with a slightly darker streak!
