I read this book during my first year of high school. My brother has a disability and I felt like the book did a nice of job of showing the thoughts, feelings, emotions, fears, etc, that families experience when trying to cope with a disability of a close family member.

I chose this book because I liked the title "The Girl with the Crazy Brother" it attracted me to the book and I wanted to read it. Dana has moved across the country and thinks that finding friends is her problem but she doesn't know what's about to come and change her life when her brother is diagnosed with schizophrenia. My favorite quote from the book was "She looked down at her brother and knew then that for the rest of her life she would always help him pick up his oranges." This line which is the last sentence of the book shows the reader that Dana is not ashamed of having a schizophrenic brother but accepts him and will always be there. I loved the authors writing style because she made the story interesting with lots of different twists and suspense. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good story with lots of twists and a good moral.
