A tree is a miracle and, in this book, young readers will meet twenty-six of these miracles. Leaf through to discover some trees of the world [in alphabetical order, of course] and learn why they are important. Young readers will discover trees in a new way and will learn some of the special things that only a tree can do. Recommended.

I am not a big fan of ABC books because I feel like they are all the same, but I actually, and surprisingly, enjoyed this book. Not because it was that much different or that the illustrations were insanely good, but because with this ABC book, there are many ways you could use it in a lesson. I absolutely loved how it was purely focused on different kinds of trees. The subject of trees isn't touched on enough in the school systems, so you could completely make a lesson out of this type of ABC book for ANY grade at the elementary level! Although I just said the illustrations were insanely good, I do think they are good enough. They allow the student reading it, or me, to see the differences in the leaves on the pages and the hands holding the actual leaves. I liked the fact that not just Caucasian hands were illustrated. African American hands were illustrated as well. It really brought in a more diverse feel to it. Another thing I enjoyed about the illustrations is that on each page, the letter that was being focused on was highlighted in red while the others were in black. It really let the reader know that the different types of trees on the page started with THOSE letters. Like I mentioned above, I would one hundred percent use this for any grade level in an elementary school. Because there is so much going on on the page and because there is a singular focus of it just being about trees, you could create a lesson in science about. Just a suggestion though! Overall, one of the better ABC books I have come across.
