Review # 2 was written on 2017-11-29 00:00:00 Nick James This was a good book that told the story of a young country boy who becomes a New York city legend. Mickey Mantle was an icon that grew up in Oklahoma. His dad was a big baseball fan and wanted his son to love the game even more than he did. So, he gave mickey the best gift he could of, a bat and a glove. Everyday after school, Mickey and his brothers and friends would go out to the pasture that his dad had converted to a field to practice and practice until he was ready, ready for the big leagues. He would soon become the biggest thing to happens to the Yankees since Babe Ruth. He ended his carrer with the same team that he started with. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys baseball or sports history. If you are knowing of Mickey Matle, then you would also be entertained by this book. |
