Julie Christie is one of my favorite actresses, just a stunningly beautiful woman. I was delighted when this biography on her came out. I was equally delighted in how well it was done. The author covers pretty much every aspect of her life and delves quite a bit into her character that is rather unique in the movie set. Starting from her early childhood on the India tea plantation we are taken through her beginning roles and early success with the Oscar right up through her latest parts to this day. Her men are covered also, some known and some unheard of that reflect her free spirited journey in life. Also her causes for which she is also recognized are addressed. In all a complete and insightful picture emerges of this talented and unique individual

"Julie Christie" by Tim Ewbank and Stafford Hildred is a disappointing, typically sloppy "copy and paste" job. Better written and more informative are both an earlier and a later book: "Julie Christie" by Michael Feeney Callan, published in 1984, and "Julie Christie" by Melanie Bell, published in 2016. Consult those instead.
