This is another book for this semester's external reading books. I would say that I didn't enjoy it at all. I like the other one more.

1. Does this story of its characters remind you of another story you have read? Does it remind you of a movie? How are they alike? And how are they different? Last semester I had read "High Life Low Life" which was about exactly the same character of the book I read, "East 43rd Street." Nat Marley tried to solve all problems he encountered in both adventures. But, in "East 43rd Street" he was in a bigger trouble than the other one. Actually, I don't remember if his assistant was the same person or not. In both books, he was introduced as a former worker of New York Police Department. He used his job experience to deal with the problems he ran across by the aid of his assistant and his co-worker. I could say that I liked the story of this book, and it helped me to finish this book in a short time. "High Life Low Life" was escapist novel as well. 2. Sometimes we read, certain words or phrases or images stand out. Maybe they are words or phrases that make an impression because of their sound, or maybe the meaning or image they make strikes us? Sometimes we find words or expressions we just do not understand. Share those that you have come across and describe why you listed them. I listed many phrases I liked in this book, and I believe that they are absolutely useful in everyday life while you are speaking. I think that learning this kind of phrases is more helpful for English learners to improve their speaking skills. Besides, I realized that some Turkish and English phrases are exactly the same in which I put asterisk. Couldn't be better (*) Cross fingers and legs A minute stretched to 45 minutes (*) Be out of someone's reach Give me a break Be up to No smoke without fire. (*) Be one step ahead (*) No way Lock somebody up Make someone's way (*)
