Includes approximately 100,000 words and phrases. Emphasis on American English with some British English spellings included. Accuracy/Authority/Bias: Merriam-Webster is well known for their reputable dictionaries. Arrangement/Presentation: It includes print definitions in black and examples in blue. Included are notes and drawings. Also included are sections for grammar review, spelling rules, prefixes and suffixes, and word roots. Relation to other works: This dictionary has larger text and more definitions than previous versions. Aimed at ESL students, but would also appeal to native English speaking students. Accessibility/Diversity: There are 16 pages of color art to appeal to visual learners, as well as larger text. "The clear and concise definitions with numerous examples will appeal to students" -Booklist review. A free e-book download is included, but is not extremely user-friendly.
