The book focuses on 51 remarkable people's birth, career path, contribution to engineering fields, marriage and death. I enjoyed reading it in general, but I'd like to see more about the relationship between these engineers.

My dad would have liked the "lower and longer" sneer that partially encapsulated Harley Earl's approach to the styling of GM cars over the years (especially the 1950s). He always added "and lovelier" to the "L and L". Harley Earl gave the public something it thought it wanted to buy year after year, part of a corporate policy that wasn't called "planned obsolescence" but definitely was.
