Review # 1 was written on 2015-04-03 00:00:00 Randolph Shultz This collection of essays did point out many features of Morrison's novel that I noticed while reading. The first four essays were clearly articulated, but the final easy seemed to contradict portions of the others. A good balance to the article selections.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-10-06 00:00:00 Barry Quart The author has taken a compelling, important theme and hidden it behind heavy academic-speak and meaningless catchphrases. While the book was too frustrating to finish, the many works mentioned give good ideas for further reading.
