Clear-headed, honest approach to the topic from various feminist scholars. Even in 2018, some 20 years after publication, it remains enlightening. The sections on Reflexivity and on Voice are each distinct and each address their overall topic well, by providing several chapters each focused on one researcher's experience (or a group of researchers doing one topic) grounded in a particular fieldwork experience they have had (e.g. on a kibbutz, or as a group of women with eating disorders). The varied contexts of these fieldwork projects, as well as the ways in which the authors choose to address the book's two main topics, bring a diversity of views to the table. In fact, some chapters even contradict each other a bit, and I would have to argue this can only be a good thing in such a context.
