Review # 1 was written on 2020-03-29 00:00:00 Stan Burt I only really glanced through this, and it is a really dry translation from german, but it does have some interesting things to say about when and how psychoanalysis can be used with children. (i personally wasn't sure you could, really, but this tells about variations that can help.) The big problem of course is the question of frequency of visits, and what will help and/or hinder in today's society vs what will actually help the analysis. |
Review # 2 was written on 2019-08-06 00:00:00 Joseph Rolli An extraordinary, surprising, brilliant book. Not only does he tackle a subject that is shrouded in taboo with great rational clarity, he goes on to provide a fascinating theory of the role of envy in social life. I will be thinking about the many ideas packed into Schoeck's masterwork for some time. For a more detailed review of this book, you might be interested in the 23m podcast that I did about it here: |
