Review # 1 was written on 2020-01-25 00:00:00 Michael Thomas I am giving up on this book. Although it was interesting and I learned a lot about France at the historical moment the book addresses, I couldn't really muster the enthusiasm to finish it (and I even left off in the middle of a chapter about women and the cultural regulation of female sexuality in post-war France! - usually right up my alley). |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-04-05 00:00:00 Edward Kelly Mental note: Don't say that the goal of your book is to show that youth is socially constructed. It's almost like "the nation is historically constructed" -- ridiculously obvious. It is well written but quite predictable. |
