Review # 1 was written on 2010-07-28 00:00:00 Heidi Piette It is a basic textbook that gives a broad sweep of the topic but it was not very readable. I am not sure if I would use it if I teach this course again.

Review # 2 was written on 2010-12-24 00:00:00 Terry Donovan I guess it was ok as a school textbook, but right now I felt like the book had a lot of common sense ideas. The focus countries for each chapter are nice, but sometimes it lacked the global perspective that sociology textbook needs. Overall, it is a nice introduction book to sociology, but if you want some new information, it probably would not attract your attention.
