Review # 1 was written on 2014-01-24 00:00:00 Todd Eskes Another book for my level 2 exam. This is the second of two books on wine and food pairing by Goldstein. I really enjoyed reading both of these books. This second one deals with pairing food with wines that are lesser known than the international varietals. I love all the info Goldstein puts in each chapter on the wines and the myriad food pairings ( I finally found a wine to go with my beloved butter chicken from this book!) but I must say I would find it quite hard to use almost any of the recipes in this book. The vast majority of them are just not things I would be interested in cooking. That being said I don't want to give someone the impression this book is not worth buying, it definitely is, his recipes just aren't my cup of tea over all (lots of fish and seafood recipes in here). But the rest of the info in the book is priceless on the subjects of wine and pairings. Recommended! |
