Review # 1 was written on 2009-07-12 00:00:00 Timothy Pickens I was fortunate enough to tour a home in the historical are of San Francisco before a magazine shoot. In one of the rooms were the most unbelievably beautiful oil paintings of old California. I have been fascinated by them ever since. I cannot get enough of their beauty and understand why they are so highly esteemed. The light and color brings the true warmth of California. Not many painters know or use the technique today. I feel like I could just walk into one and feel the peaceful beauty and warmth. Since I will never own one of these paintings this book is what I like to look at when I dream of the 'real' California. These paintings are poetry without words.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-11-19 00:00:00 St-Germain Steve This book is flat-out brilliant. Beautifully written, filled with ideas, information, knowledge, insights--I couldn't put it down. This is the alhpa book of wolf books, and it raises the study of animals and our relationship with them to a new level of understanding. I love this book so much that I've bought over a dozen copies to give out as birthday and Christmas presents, and I suspect I'll be buying more. I cannot recall the last time I was so powerfully effected by a work of non-fiction.
