Review # 1 was written on 2018-01-07 00:00:00 April Reed It has been a long time when I found an academic text a "page-turner." I could not put this book down. Dr. Choi does a masterful job of weaving immense research into a readable text about the complicated interplay between Christian missionaries and Korean nationalism as it played out on women's lives. |
Review # 2 was written on 2020-10-19 00:00:00 Barbara Smith An interesting look at one aspect of modern Korean development. Although this focuses on the missionaries, it also goes into detail on some early secular Korean "New Women" feminists that help to round out the work. |
