Review # 1 was written on 2017-11-10 00:00:00 Dirk Dachs This has helped me a lot as I search around for antique furniture. This book also gave references for other books to read about this style of furniture. It's just too bad the pics aren't in color. |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-12-14 00:00:00 Franklin Tinsley Excellent book on American furniture -- Jacobean, William and Mary, Queen Anne, Chippendale and Federal. Great photos of period pieces as well as step by step turning (on a lathe). Also how pieces were used during their times such as card tables that were used in taverns as much as homes for playing cards, backgammon, and dice games. Favorite card games were whist, lanterloo, put, piquet, cribbage and all fours (during the Puritan era). |
