Review # 1 was written on 2010-02-06 00:00:00 Cheri Runyon This "my first reader" is all about self-confidence...even stressing "I don't care what some kids say." |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-07-18 00:00:00 Maria Cortese This is an upbeat telling from a child's perspective of a habitat for humanity like project. Because it is from the child's perspective and not an omnipotent one, it doesn't share as much about the situation of poverty and homelessness that it might otherwise convey. It may come off as a little trite, to some adults, but children will enjoy the story, and will gain a little insight into building projects. The artwork is beautiful and Sharonda glows. It's good to see beautiful artwork of brown children. |
