I read this book for one on my dear Goodread friends. I wanted to learn more about this country and its culture. There was not too much selection at the library to choose from, but in the end I think this was a very good choice. It was easy to understand and gave a good briefing on the history of Lebanon. It is a beautiful country and this book had plenty of pictures depicting its beauty and its people. It had lots of information on Lebanon's history, its wars, the food, religion, economy, education, art, sports. Lebanon will now have to go on my bucket list of places to see before I die.

I've been paying more attention to the South Caucusus region, and Lebanon and Syria which are close-by were recently in the news, I thought I would read something about them. This is a book from Children's Press, so it was a nice basic overview of Lebanon. Honestly, it's a region I know very little about, but when I started reading about the history, I realized I know a little bit as (specifically) the cities of Beirut and Tripoli have popped up in regards to other historical topics.
