Review # 1 was written on 2015-07-26 00:00:00 Mona Varner As usual, Fowler does a remarkably good job with a limited vocabulary palette. He manages to cover root vegetable crops, mangroves, orchids, banyans and provides a very short overview of the 2 kinds of roots: the primary and secondary. A nice little book to use with students who are struggling with reading but who want to learn more about plant anatomy.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-08-11 00:00:00 Yvonne Pisani I *guess* this is a good introduction if you're not that familiar with plants. But even then, I've read better introductions that more thoroughly covered the subject. Here, information is just glossed over in a way that leads you to question the basic point of knowledge establishment. Best thing about this book is the CD for Virtual Plant, which is quite informative. However, there is also free online access to that as well, so it's not quite a steal.
