Review # 1 was written on 2018-02-16 00:00:00 Robert Wayment I have a strong general interest in the interior design for the 19th C but I could not finish this book. The author is clearly knowledgeable but his writing style is not engaging. What appeared to be constant references to "that will be dealt with in Chapter ... suggests that the editor might not have been demanding as they could have been. I detected incorrect attributions or lack of them to some images which confirms this feeling. What I found of value were his footnotes with references to primary and secondary sources of the period. Many of these I was able to find available online for free - e.g. Project Guttenberg.
