Review # 1 was written on 2010-08-29 00:00:00 Michael Blanco First of all, I am a complete sucker for good oratory... And there are some good samples here. There really is nothing like a good speech to uplift spirit and spark thought. Like I said, there are some good ones here, but the historical significance of this book comes from the TIMING as well as the substance of the speeches. This collection was put together in the 19-teens. 50 years or so after emancipation. A great deal can be deduced based on this timing. Regardless of historical value some of these speeches rock! Recommend for all other people addicted to oratory.
