Review # 1 was written on 2019-01-26 00:00:00 Robert Patton This book contains a fantastic collection of Erte's designs and fashion illustrations in beautiful detail with vivid and detailed descriptions of the fabrics, colours and embellishments of each item. The downside being that as nearly all illustrations featured are black and white, as it seems nearly impossible to glean even a fraction of the true magnificence of Erte's creations. Colour illustrations would make this book near perfect. I highly recommend keeping a magnifying glass to get a good look at the exquisite details in the designs.

Review # 2 was written on 2008-06-29 00:00:00 Kenny Griffin inspiring and decadent drawings of 1920's fashion from designer Erte: he includes outrageous descriptions that sound like this: "the long points are designed to hold one's long black hair. Yes, it's a nightcap of orange silk, embroidered with shades of mauve". (pg.110)
