Review # 1 was written on 2015-02-28 00:00:00 Meghan Dawson Not a bad text book, but like so many math heavy texts, I would hate to rely soley on the text for learning. The book occasionally assumes you can read between the lines and derive where they got their answers from. I'd rather have an overly long explanation than a skimpy one. For example, it would explain the basics of a topic in a chapter and then give you a question in the back that assumed you could really infer a lot of complicated things from that. There is a reason I am reading this text book.....it's because I don't know the subject material. Inferences are not appreciated. I did like the answer set and how the questions were laid out; it helped with understanding; especially with the complicated questions. I was able to get an "Ooooh, ok I get it". It's a shame they didn't just explain it that way in the chapter though. Considering the price we pay for texts, I think it would be great if they could include videos explaining the material. But that's just my opinion. I will still be keeping this text so that I can have a reference in the future; now that I have been taught the material.
