The average rating for Would-Be Worlds How Simulation Is Changing the Frontiers of Science based on 2 reviews is 3 stars.
Review # 1 was written on 2015-08-12 00:00:00 Chris Dillingham Although this is out of date, it is a good popular primer for the possibilities and limitations of computer big data predictive modeling, applied to online sports games of fantasy-league football as well as to complex biological systems and consumer choices. This was a nice fit and review for my IP on Predictability and War, since it is frank about both the amazing opportunities for research, as well as the problems inherent in forecasting this way. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-07-19 00:00:00 Narissa Holford This book walks through some interesting examples of simulations, but provides nothing in the way of enlightenment. To paraphrase the books introduction, Would'be Worlds is about why we're no closer to any decent theory of complex systems. |
