Review # 1 was written on 2012-06-29 00:00:00 Tony Ddos santos Extrememly well organized and well illustrated, this book covers the basics very well. Once again, I used it a great deal for my doctoral work, but I imagine the text is out of date by now. Still, a lot of what is detailed is as valuable now as it was 20 years ago. As I recall, there was a lot of evolutionary biochem detailed. I found that more could have done by way of neurobiology, but that is a specialty field that cannot be covered in great depth in a text like this. If the book has been updated over the years, it is a must have. If not, it is still a very valuable resource. I think I still have it!

Review # 2 was written on 2007-12-26 00:00:00 shawn banks I agree - this is a wonderful, comprehensive book. Also, it has very nice pictures - which are a must.
