Review # 1 was written on 2017-09-05 00:00:00 Rick Callow If you need pictures to accompany your recipes, this is not the book for you. If you are intimidated by unusual ingredients, this is not the book for you. If you have issues with recipes containing more than 5 ingredients, this is not the book for you. This, however, is the type of cookbook I love. There are wonderful recipes from all over the world, and not just your typical fare. It is obvious that the author spent a considerable amount of time both developing the recipes and researching the history behind them. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-02-21 00:00:00 Paul Hubbard More work than I'm willing to do for soup. Making specific broths, tracking down specific ingredients. Pig skin, chicken feet, African fruit, Mexican chiles, way too many recipes for tripe ... I made coconut black-eyed pea soup and it was fine, nothing special, so I don't think I'll miss too much by skipping the others. |
