Review # 1 was written on 2017-01-22 00:00:00 David Macdonald Who Was Ferdinand Magellan? by Sydelle Kramer was filled with interesting information but also sprinkled with a lot of unfounded speculation. My the time Magellan was sailing, the sailors knew the world was NOT flat but this was stated that they believed it was flat and fearful. There was also grammar errors. The info was interesting about his life and I did learn a lot but some things were not facts but fictionalized for the story, did it happen like that? Umm.... Good book over all. He was certainly a nut! |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-11-26 00:00:00 George Clark 106 pages. Great biography on a person who did not let anything stop him from reaching his dream to sail around the world. I have never heard of a person who had more stacked against them in life and fought so hard to reach their goals. I was amazed at all the things I learned while reading this biography. I think the author gives a very balanced view of a man who was not perfect but persevered in a world filled with difficult situations. Highly recommended for Grades 4-5. |
