Holy moley, this book was fantastic. Karen Kingsbury was a new-to-me author of 2018 that, after five amazing books, has became a potential favorite. This was the first book I'd read by her with a teenaged main character and a military theme, and I loved it for both reasons. I adore books with characters (teens or adults) searching for one or both of their biological parents. Hannah's quest to find her father'preferably before Christmas'was so, so good. Hannah was a sweet, bold, responsible teenaged girl, and Mike was just...awesome. Oh, and the chauffeur (who's name I can't remember...) was such a sweetheart! Ahh, and the ending?! I may or may not have teared up... <3 Five of five red gloves for this darling holiday tale!

Karen Kingsbury's stories always grabs at my heart. This was the same for this novella. My heart broke for Hannah and Mike, who due to Hannah's mother's selfish behavior lost so many years together. There was some suspense/action included as well with Mike being a chopper pilot for the military. This was the first book in the red glove series I have read. All books stand alone, so you don't have to read them in order.
