An nice little book about the wonderful world of organic mechanochemistry. It is chock-full of examples and reads like a series of review articles. As far as the writing goes, the writer does a good job at explaining various mechanochemical effects in physical detail and cites plenty of sources. That being said, I found the book to be lacking in illustrations, equations, chemical structures and images. Performing chemistry e.g. by ball-milling is very foreign to most scientists, so an illustration of such a device and a molecular picture would be very helpful. I personally would have liked to see a slightly more formal discussion of some of the physics and chemistry involved.

Absolutely jubilant! An original voice and vision is behind this crazy quilt which runs the bases from farce to spy novel to slice of life to political activism. Would make an amazing cult film! My only crit is maybe some of the plot points could have been stitched in a little tighter and some things that happen "off stage" could happen on, but excellent writing is what keeps the ball in the air here.
