This book is an essay about different types of symmetries: rotations, reflection, spirals, helices, repeat patterns, etc. The difference is that the authors who are scientists took their camera everywhere with them, and took personal photographs all over the world to illustrate the different types of symmetry. So every topic has a simple line sketch and a real world example from the authors photo gallery. The book is informative, educational, enlightening, and beautifully illustrated. The writing is not highly mathematical, so it should appeal to the general reader as well a scientist who employ all aspects of symmetry in their science. It is fun just to leaf through as well as to read cover to cover. You will look at the world and the ubiquity of symmetry in a different way after reading this volume.

A great overview of the issues surrounding global slavery - both labor and sexual exploitation. It's intention is not to anger or provoke an emotional response, but instead offers a rational overview of the issues that lead to the exploitation of people, providing actionable ways to counteract the increasing trend.
