Genre: Picture Book Copyright Date: 2006 A book about a son and his father. Good book for reading around Father's Day. Maybe for grades K-3. Can lead to discussion about our favorite things about our daddy or another important figure in our life and how they possibly make us feel like we are standing on top of the world.

The enormous crocodile is a story about a villainous crocodile that is on a determined mission to satisfy his hunger. Discontent with his usual diet of fish the enormous crocodile is on a rampage to eat children. The plot of the story is set in Africa where the crocodile lives. He is destined to get children but he cannot blatantly go out of the muddy, murky river waters where he dwells. He comes up with plans and schemes to try and trick the children to come close. While walking through the forest he tells all the forest dwellers of his mischievous plot to get his kids. Disguising himself as a baby coconut tree, a seesaw and an amusement park ride would have actually worked if he did not boast to the other jungle animals of his diabolical schemes. Roald Dahl story keeps the reader entertained with creating these different tactics and the reader continues reading in order to see if the crocodile achieves his goal. The story ends when a bit,no pun intended, of karma gets the crocodile back.
