Review # 1 was written on 2014-08-30 00:00:00 Jiaying Mao The text is a collection of essay about the writing classroom setting, written from a variety of perspectives, from the perspectives of students as well as teachers. It gives advice on how to engage in the writing process, approach assignments, and teach writing classes. The material is fairly engaging, but I didn't find a lot of new material in the process. It caused me to rethink a couple practices, but that came out of essays that reminded me of ideas I had come across in different settings. Probably a better book if you are entering into this conversation, rather than having been in the conversation for a while. |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-08-01 00:00:00 Mary Jo Domanski A book of essays on writing by professors and students. If I were going to use a text on writing about writing (which I'm often tempted to do), it would be this one. |
