Review # 1 was written on 2017-09-10 00:00:00 Stephanie Bryant George Washington grew up in Virginia and desired to be a soldier like his brothers. Through this book we learn the story of how he came to be a great leader. After the fight against England the people decided that he would be a great president. This biography was great because it told the story of Washington in simple terms but still got across how important he was in the founding of America. The biography would be good to incorporate in a 2nd or 3rd history lesson when they learn about presidents. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-09-06 00:00:00 Daisuke Tsutsui A nice, small biography great for any classroom! This book went through the different phases in his life, when he was a child, a teenager, and an adult. I think this is a great book to have in the classroom, especially during a social studies unit for students. I liked how this biography mentions that he never wanted to be a leader but he served the American people as the first president. |
