Review # 1 was written on 2013-04-13 00:00:00 Karthikeyan Ramanathan As a professional astrologer this book is an invaluable resource for understanding midpoints. It's one of the first books I reach for when judging a chart. Very often a client will ask me to look at a birth chart for someone else, such as a partner or potential employee, and most often they do not have the individual's birth time. For all non-astrologers, the birth time is very important because not only will it give the ascendant, and houses, but also the exact degree of the Moon, which moves more rapidly than any other planet. Without a birth time we are left with only about 30% of the information, so I always turn to midpoints to add additional information concerning the individual I'm studying. I erect a birth chart for noon, and ignore the midpoints relating to the Moon and ascendant; but most of the others will be accurate and can offer deep insight into the individual's personality. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-08-15 00:00:00 Erin Jackson A classic consulting book with all mid-points combinations between the planets, ASC, MC and Dragon's Head, plus planet-sign positions. The North Node and MC symbolisms are slightly different from the common. As Rob Hand says about this book: be careful with the negative vision of the more slow planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto). Apart from this, the descriptions are very useful and well classified. It seems like a list of empirical observations instead of the typical invented cook-book list. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to study the mid-points technique. You can see a preview at books.google.com. |
