Review # 1 was written on 2020-04-17 00:00:00 Steven Teachout A psych-sociological examination of the three women, their relationships to their work/art, each other (particularly V & V) and to the others in Bloomsbury, and Self to Other. A lot of it was beyond me, being the sort of high flung theoretical talk that makes me glad I was not an English major. Also, a lot of the critique/analysis of the paintings/sketching was beyond me. Nevertheless I found it interesting enough to read the book in its anxiety willingly'though it could be slow going in parts. One caveat'neither Carrington nor [members of] Bloomsbury or their contemporaries considered Carrington to be part of Bloomsbury. |
Review # 2 was written on 2020-08-22 00:00:00 Ken Caraglio It's interesting enough. There was some more information about the three primary women in the famous Bloomsbury Group than I knew. But, it was still a bit dry to read. |
