Review # 1 was written on 2013-04-13 00:00:00 Lou Austin This is a lovely collection of interesting articles. Good coverage (including the countryside!). Overall very heavy in discussions on historiography, methodology, and interpretation, rather than actual history-history. Unfortunately Oxford hard copies are way too expensive but if this was one third the price, I would definitely keep it as a reference for a variety of topics. I also wish scholars on fascist Japan (like Kushner) would have been invited. That could have made discussion a lot more interesting. |
