Review # 1 was written on 2021-03-27 00:00:00 Willie Payne Much more than an introduction to these thinkers, but written with such clarity that it would also serve as such. Certainly you'd be ready for original texts and academic essays once you've read this. Priest, who I was fortunate enough to be taught by some years ago, knows his stuff and has the skills to communicate this to the reader. I needed a revision session on Mill and Hume, and got everything I was looking for, but couldn't resist going back and reading the other chapters. Highly recommended. |
Review # 2 was written on 2020-08-25 00:00:00 Michael Breeden Priest provides a helpful comparative analysis which demonstrates a variety of views possible within empiricism. He writes clearly while providing enough depth to be worth the read. |
