Review # 1 was written on 2016-12-06 00:00:00 Janet Hector For traditional jazz lovers. Story told ok. There really wasn't much to it. Martyn essentially told the story orally and it transcribed and edited. Not much thought was put into the narrative. It is fascinating that an English bloke could have made such an impact on the NOLA trad jazz scene. Thank goodness for people like the author who helped rekindle an interest in trad jazz.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-08-13 00:00:00 Danielle Fesenmyer Turner travels down an information highway you've likely been down before if you are a fan of New Orleans jazz--but this is not a bad place for a beginner.He writes with feeling, even dabs of poetry, and while it isn't academic, it's close enough to Hoyle for a young student.
