The words to this traditional west English lullaby are a bit archaic, but the illustrations are soft, dreamy, and beautiful. A mother and child in various lovely scenes with fairies, flowers, fishes and frogs. As I read the book, I was thinking it would be nice to sing the words, but having never seen them before, I didn't know the tune. Then I got to the end of the book and read that, although the original music has been lost, they have been recently put to music again. I don't know how to read music, but could probably pick this out on a piano. A sweet bedtime story whether read or sung.

A baby is the entire world to any Mother and the baby in this lullabye is no exception. Haunting text and illustrations bring this twilight world of faeries and lullabies to life!
