Review # 1 was written on 2019-10-21 00:00:00 Gretchen Denum An excellent review of technologies used in inertial navigation systems up to the early 90's. The author does a very good job of familiarizing the reader with relevant previous technologies before moving forward. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-04-13 00:00:00 Francene J Alcordo I got this book randomly from the library and it was very good. I didn't read all the chapters, I skipped around. Basically it looks at 10 underground technologies and examines them in a light way, not too dense at all. I read chapters on High-powered rockets, Technology of Burnin Man, Tesla Coils, High-voltage discharge machines, FLAMETHROWERS, and robots (remember that awesome show Battlebots?). I think the most interesting thing of this book was the history of some of these technologies, like the history of the flamethrower (German weapon in WW1). Would recommend this book to any "tech" minded individual for bathroom reading material--short and light. |
