Nancy Drew + Gossip Girl + Pretty Little Liars = Amazing!! Totally not what I was expecting. I thought it would just be some frilly little teen socialite book, but I was pleasantly surprised that it actually has some substance and wasn't ALL about the rich and fabulous aspects (like Gossip Girl mostly was). I really enjoyed this and I'm looking forward to reading the next two. Btw, I also love the fact that the author knew when to end the series unlike many of the teen series these days, ex: PLL, GG, Private, Clique, It Girl, A-List, and on and on...

This is definitely almost on the so bad it's good list of reads I've picked up because of a reading challenge. It's hysterical, but not a book I'd suggest anyone actually goes out and buys. The first in the series introduces us to the Hamilton triplets - sixteen year old celebutantes who come from the kind of wealthy background most can only imagine, but who have also been primed to take over their family business. They are, supposedly, very very clever but still find themselves caught up in all manner of preposterous scenarios as they find themselves caught up in the scandal surrounding the mysterious death of fashion editor Zahara Bell. Rather than running a mile when they become embroiled in the case, the girls decide to do their own bit of super sleuthing... From the downright crazy situation to the obsessive name-checking of fashion designers this was a book that pretty much went over my head for the most part. I wanted to know who was responsible, but even that felt like a bit of a let-down and rather at odds with what we'd already seen. I think I just have to shake my head and resolve not to let the slightest bit of curiosity over what comes next get to me.
