Review # 1 was written on 2021-06-17 00:00:00 Donzel George Ii 3.5 rounded up. I found this on a list of actor/actress romances. I didn�t read any reviews, so I had no idea what I was getting into. I was just as surprised as the heroine at the twist at the end. And it made so much sense. So well done, Carole Mortimer. I totally believed the H/h�s HEA. I loved the heroine even though she exhibited a lot of faith (too much?) in the hero for some reader�s taste. However � and this is big - the hero loved his first wife very much and heroine is playing her in a movie. This may put you off. Heroine is made up to look like her with hair dye and contacts. Hero never mistakes her for his dead wife, but dead wife is talked about a lot. The workplace sexism in this one is OTT, so be warned that the 80�s are alive and well within these pages.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-02-27 00:00:00 Jason Sorrell This book was first published in the late 80�s and there are a few parts that I found a bit out-dated, though I must say that some of the sex scenes and there are quite a few, must have been pretty hot for that time. Carole Mortimer�s writing is easy to read and the story line is quite interesting. Actress meets reclusive hero, who is unable to forget his dead wife. Filled with many well-mannered and some not so nice English characters, set in the gorgeous English countryside � the Lake District � mist, lakes, imposing homes � this story has it all!!!! Lots of twists and an incredible discovery at the end that I never expected. This is not one of my favorite books by this author but I did enjoy reading it.
