Jasmine St Clair has it all at her fingertips- a lead in a good movie, a wholesome acting image... rather like Gabby Union if Hollywood had given her a career. But soon all that she's worked for is in peril because of a heinous action by her boyfriend/partner. Stung, Jasmine flees to St Lucia, to relax and heal, but she finds that she's house sharing with Darien, a guy who has his own wounds to nurse. In the way of these things, like recognises like, and the couple have to try and make their way through each other's individual issues. For such a simple story, there was a lot going on, but because every scene was related to the characters or the plot - instead of having random plot lines all over the place - made the story plausible and enjoyable. It was nice to see that Darien was unsure about himself, about what he thought relationships and women were, so you could understand his caution and clumsiness. Same thing for Jasmine, you could appreciate her position and her actions. I didn't even mind the epilogue. The book falters in that I didn't buy the reason how Darien got to house share in St. Lucia. You could understand how Jasmine got the house, but Darien's link was dodgy. The sex (hello!) didn't really help the narrative much, and there were some emotional scenes that felt rushed and the cover is rather unappealing. Overall though, a decent read.

Author: Gwynne Forster Published By: Kimani Press Arabesque Age Recommended: Adult Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: 4 Review: "Just The Man She Needs" by Gwynne Forster was a good read. I found this novel very easy to connect to even though it wasn't one of my favorite novels from this author. "Just The Man She Needs" was of a journalist, Felicia Parker who wrote social columns who had not been successful in her own social life...contacts an escort service...and is hooked to an escort named John Ashton Underwood..who wasn't exactly escort. Now this story line will pick up from there and this is where I say you must pick up this novel to see the what, when, how of it all in this good read that only this author gives to the reader. You will find that this story will mainly focus on these two main people and their interactions with their families which will proves quite interesting. I felt this author gives us a good read and I yes I would recommend this one as a good read.
